Show Us Your Art!!

As part of OUTing THE PAST Festival 2022 organised by the National Museum of Ireland, and OUTing THE PAST Ireland 2022, we would like to highlight the Artists within our community.

We are calling for Artists to create a piece of art of their choice with the LGBT+ History as theme.
The competition is to be divided in two categories:
– one for teenagers aged 14- to 17-year-old,
– one for adults aged 18+.

A selection of participant’s artworks will have an image of their artwork displayed on the National Museum of Ireland – Country Life’s website.  A panel, composed of people from the National Museum & the OutWest Committee, will be put in place to vote for the best artwork.  The two winners will be announced on Sunday 3^rd of April 2022, and they will both be rewarded with a prize.

To participate, please, make sure to read our Art Competition’s Terms & Conditions, and fill out the following Entry Form where you will be able to submit your artwork¹.
Closing date for entries is the 7th of March 2022.

In addition, on Saturday 12th of March 2022², a selection of participants will be invited to join us in our Centre in Tucker St. Castlebar, Co. Mayo to meet with us and have their artwork professionally photographed, so it can be displayed online.

Images will be posted on the National Museum Website by March 25^th.

¹ Videos should be in MP4 format up to 7-8 minutes long, and photographs should be in .JPEG or .PNG, High Resolution.
